Turkey Pesto Sandwich

Ingredients
  

2 slices of whole grain bread

4 ounces of deli turkey slices

2 tablespoons of pesto sauce

1 slice of provolone cheese

Fresh spinach leaves

Tomato slices

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil (optional for toasting bread)

Instructions
 

Start by spreading 1 tablespoon of pesto sauce on each slice of bread.

    Layer the turkey slices on one slice of bread.

      Place the provolone cheese slice over the turkey.

        Add a few fresh spinach leaves and tomato slices on top.

          Season with salt and pepper as desired.

            Top with the second slice of bread, pesto side down.

              If you like, drizzle a bit of olive oil on the outside of the bread for a crispy texture.

                Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

                  Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.
