Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1 cup breadcrumbs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes

1 jar (28 oz) marinara sauce for serving

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped spinach, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined.

Take a small amount of the meat mixture and flatten it in your hand. Place a cube of mozzarella cheese in the center and wrap the meat around it, forming a ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture.

Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown.

In a pot, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat. Add the cooked meatballs and simmer for a few minutes.

Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
