Ingredients
  

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1 pound store-bought or homemade pound cake, cut into cubes

2 cups whipped cream (or cool whip)

1 cup vanilla pudding, prepared

1 tablespoon sugar (optional, depending on strawberry sweetness)

Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with sugar to enhance their sweetness. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to release their juices.

    In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer half of the pound cake cubes at the bottom.

      Spoon half of the prepared vanilla pudding over the pound cake.

        Add a layer of half of the whipped cream on top of the pudding.

          Layer half of the strawberries over the whipped cream.

            Repeat the layers with the remaining pound cake, pudding, whipped cream, and strawberries.

              Finish with a generous layer of whipped cream on top.

                Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a few whole strawberries, if desired.

                  Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
