Ingredients

4 cups water

4 tea bags (black or green tea)

1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Ice cubes

Lemon slices and fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Boil the water in a saucepan. Once boiling, remove from heat and add tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes.

While the tea is steeping, in a separate bowl, muddle the sliced strawberries with sugar and lemon juice until the strawberries release their juices.

Remove tea bags from the saucepan and combine the brewed tea with the strawberry mixture. Stir well to dissolve the sugar completely.

Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.

Serve the chilled strawberry sweet tea over ice cubes. Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired.
