1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 large egg

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup fresh strawberries, diced

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.

Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).

Use a spoon to carefully drop small balls of batter into the hot oil, cooking until golden brown on all sides.

Remove and drain on paper towels.

In another bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, diced strawberries, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Once the donut holes have cooled, use a piping bag to fill each with the strawberry cheesecake mixture.
