Ingredients
  

6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced

1 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 ready-made pie crust (or homemade if preferred)

2 tablespoons butter, sliced

Egg wash (1 egg whisked with 1 tablespoon water, for crust)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

    In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, flour, cinnamon, lemon juice, salt, and nutmeg. Mix until peaches are thoroughly coated.

      Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie pan. Pour the peach mixture into the crust, spreading evenly.

        Dot the top with sliced butter.

          Place the second pie crust on top (if using), and seal the edges. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

            Brush the top crust with the egg wash for a golden finish.

              Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
