2 slices of rustic Italian bread

2 slices of fresh mozzarella cheese

2 slices of prosciutto or ham

Fresh basil leaves

Olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: balsamic glaze for drizzling

Instructions
 

Begin by preheating a skillet over medium heat.

    Drizzle a little olive oil on one side of each slice of Italian bread.

      On the opposite side, layer the fresh mozzarella cheese, prosciutto or ham, and fresh basil leaves.

        Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper over the ingredients for added flavor.

          Close the sandwich with the other slice of bread, oil side out.

            Place the sandwich in the preheated skillet and toast until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

              Once toasted, remove from heat and drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.
