Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

8 ounces linguine or spaghetti

4 tablespoons butter

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Juice of 1 lemon

1/2 cup white wine (optional)

1 loaf of crusty garlic bread

Instructions

Cook the pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté shrimp: In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook until shrimp turn pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Deglaze: If using, pour in white wine and let it simmer for a couple of minutes to reduce slightly.

Mix it up: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, and sprinkle with chopped parsley and lemon juice. Toss everything together until well combined.

Prepare garlic bread: Slice the loaf of garlic bread in half, spread with butter and minced garlic, then toast until golden brown.

Serve: Plate the shrimp scampi over the pasta and serve with slices of garlic bread on the side. Enjoy!
