Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter, softened

2 eggs

1/4 cup milk

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup sliced almonds

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon powdered sugar

1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.

In a bowl, mix the flour and baking powder together.

In another large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract and milk.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the batter until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Sprinkle the sliced almonds evenly over the batter.

Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cake cool completely in the pan before removing.

Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.

Slice the cooled cake in half horizontally and spread honey on the bottom layer.

Spread the whipped cream on top of the honey and place the other half of the cake on top.

Optional: Drizzle more honey on top and sprinkle extra sliced almonds if desired.

Enjoy your delightful German Bee Sting Cake!
