Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup pure maple syrup

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup whole milk

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until creamy.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract and maple syrup until combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined. Fold in chopped walnuts if using.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Drizzle with additional maple syrup or glaze if desired before serving.
