Go Back
The history of key lime pie can be traced back to the early 20th century in the Florida Keys, where the small, tart key limes were abundant and widely used. The first known recipe for key lime pie appeared in a Florida cookbook in the 1930s, and it quickly gained popularity due to its unique flavor and simple preparation. Traditionally, key lime pie is made with a graham cracker crust, sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, and fresh key lime juice, and it is often topped with fluffy whipped cream.
