Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup buttermilk

1 large egg

1 tablespoon red food coloring

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1/4 cup cream cheese, softened

1 to 2 cups powdered sugar (for icing)

1 tablespoon milk (adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In another bowl, blend the melted butter, buttermilk, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract.

Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.

On a floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle (about 1/4 inch thick).

In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon together, then spread it evenly over the dough.

Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into 12 equal pieces.

Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.

While the rolls are baking, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk together to create icing.

Once the rolls are done, drizzle the icing over warm rolls and enjoy!
