Ingredients

1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

4 cups water

2 tea bags (black or green tea)

1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2-3 lemons)

1/3 cup honey or sugar (to taste)

Ice cubes

Lemon slices and blueberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

Add the tea bags and remove from heat. Let it steep for about 5 minutes.

In a separate bowl, combine blueberries with 1 cup of water. Mash the blueberries with a fork or potato masher to release their juices.

Strain the blueberry mash through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to collect the juice. Discard the solids.

Add the steeped tea, lemon juice, honey or sugar to the blueberry juice in the pitcher. Stir well to combine.

Pour in an additional cup of cold water to dilute (or to taste).

Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or serve immediately over ice.

Garnish with lemon slices and fresh blueberries if desired.
