Ingredients

1.5 lbs chicken thighs (boneless, skinless)

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)

4 cloves garlic (minced)

1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

Salt and pepper (to taste)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 green onions (sliced, for garnish)

Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken thighs to the bowl, ensuring they are well-coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).

Cook the Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken thighs to the hot skillet (reserve the marinade for later). Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the reserved marinade. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth, then gradually whisk it into the simmering sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and bubble.

Combine & Serve: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, coating it in the thickened sauce. Let it simmer for another 2 minutes to absorb the flavors. Remove from heat.

Garnish & Plate: Serve the sticky honey garlic chicken over a bed of cooked rice or quinoa. Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top for added flavor and presentation.
