Ingredients
  

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil (or vegetable oil)

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ground ginger, salt, and pepper. Reserve 1/4 cup of the marinade for basting later.

    Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring that all pieces are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for best flavor).

      Preheat the Grill or Oven: If grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If baking, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

        Cook the Chicken:

          - Grilling: Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the used marinade. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side, brushing with the reserved marinade during the last few minutes of cooking. The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

            - Baking: Place the marinated chicken on a lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through, basting with reserved marinade halfway through.

              Optional Sauce Thickening: If you prefer a thicker sauce, combine the remaining marinade in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of water to form a slurry, then gradually stir this into the simmering marinade until thickened. Cook for an additional minute.

                Serve: Once the chicken is cooked, remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice the chicken and drizzle the thickened sauce over it. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
