Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast

1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F)

2 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, mix the warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the olive oil and the activated yeast mixture.

Knead the Dough: Stir until it becomes a shaggy dough. Transfer it to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let it Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.

Shape the Dough: Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into desired shapes (loaves, rolls, etc.). Allow them to rise again for 30-45 minutes.

Bake to Perfection: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool and Enjoy: Remove from the oven, cool on a wire rack, and enjoy your homemade bread!

Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 3 hours (including rising time) | Servings: Makes 2 loaves or 12 rolls
