Ingredients

3 ripe bananas 🍌

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

3 large eggs 🥚

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped walnuts 🌰

1 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the cream)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.

In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.

In another large bowl, cream together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chopped walnuts gently.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the cream, beat the heavy cream in a bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.

Once the cake is completely cool, top with the whipped cream and serve with additional walnuts if desired.
