400g spaghetti

500g ground beef or lamb

1 large onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil

Grated cheese (for serving)

Instructions
 

Boil the Spaghetti: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

    Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.

      Brown the Meat: Add the ground beef or lamb to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.

        Make the Sauce: Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes to let the flavors meld.

          Combine: Toss the cooked spaghetti with the meat sauce until well combined. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

            Serve: Plate the spaghetti and sprinkle with grated cheese before serving.
