4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Cooking spray or vegetable oil for frying

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Set up a dredging station: Place the flour in one shallow bowl, beat the eggs in a second bowl, and mix together the panko breadcrumbs, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a third bowl.

      Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the chicken with salt and black pepper.

        Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off excess, then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off.

          Finally, coat the chicken in the panko-cheddar mixture, pressing down gently to ensure the coating adheres well.

            Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray or drizzle with a bit of vegetable oil for extra crispiness.

              Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).

                Once cooked, remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.

                  Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
