Punch has a long-standing history as a celebratory beverage, dating back to the 17th century. Originating from India, the word "punch" is derived from the Hindi word "panch," which means five, referring to the five original ingredients that made up the drink: alcohol, sugar, lemon juice, water, and tea or spices. Over the centuries, punch recipes have evolved, particularly in Western cultures, where they have become synonymous with festive gatherings and celebrations.
