Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 cup marinara sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 package pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.

Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the beef is browned.

Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.

Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the dough.

Spoon the beef mixture over the cheese, spreading it evenly and leaving a border around the edges.

Carefully roll the dough up from the long side, sealing the edges as you go.

Place the stromboli seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Beat the egg and brush it over the top of the stromboli for a golden finish.

Cut a few slits on top of the dough to allow steam to escape.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
