Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup buttermilk

3 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 tablespoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

Fresh strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries for decoration

Whipped cream for frosting

Mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch round cake pans.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until fully combined.

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes in the pans before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Once cooled, slice each cake horizontally to create layers if desired.

Assemble the cake layers, spreading whipped cream and berries between each layer and on top of the cake.

Decorate with additional berries and mint leaves for a fresh look.
