Ingredients

2 lbs pork spare ribs

1 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup rice vinegar

2 tablespoons sesame oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon five-spice powder

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tablespoon chopped green onions (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Ribs: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption.

Make the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, five-spice powder, and red pepper flakes if using.

Marinate the Ribs: Place the ribs in a large dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring an even coating. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Cooking Time: Place the marinated ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil. Cover tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.

Glaze the Ribs: After baking, remove the foil and brush some extra marinade over the ribs. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes to get a sticky glaze.

Serve: Once caramelized, take out from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Cut into portions and serve.
