Ingredients

2 large apples (preferably a firm variety like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

1 egg

1 cup breadcrumbs (optional for extra crunch)

Cooking spray or oil for frying

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking.

Wash the apples, remove the core, and cut them into wedge shapes.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and salt.

In a separate bowl, combine the milk and egg, whisk until smooth.

Dip each apple wedge into the wet mixture first, then coat it with the dry mixture, followed by the breadcrumbs if using.

Place the coated wedges on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If frying, heat oil in a pan to a medium-high temperature, and carefully place wedges in the hot oil.

Bake for about 20-25 minutes or fry for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.

Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your delicious and healthy snack!
