Ingredients
  

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup milk, warmed

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon

1 1/2 cups peeled and diced apples

1/4 cup raisins (optional)

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp milk (for icing)

Instructions
 

In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.

    In a separate bowl, combine warmed milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.

      Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

        Roll out dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.

          Spread softened butter over the dough and sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, diced apples, raisins, and nuts if using.

            Roll the dough tightly and slice into 12 even rolls.

              Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.

                Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

                  For icing, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
