Ingredients

500g beef mince

2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated

3 garlic cloves, minced

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

1 small red chili, finely sliced (optional, for heat)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 cup cooked rice (to serve)

Instructions

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large frying pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef mince, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned completely.

Add Aromatics: Add the grated ginger and minced garlic to the pan. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Combine with Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the beef mince. Cook, stirring frequently, for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken and become sticky.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and red chili, if using. Serve the sticky ginger beef mince over a bed of cooked rice.
